Hey, I’m Marni.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working virtually with adults and couples located in California

Collaborative

I believe in the power of collaboration to create a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. My approach is client-centered, strength-based, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

My Approach

Relational

I utilize humor, when appropriate, and collaborate with you to create a relaxed space that feels comfortable and nurturing. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed to overcome challenges and create more self-awareness and an overall greater sense of self-fulfillment.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress as a result of trauma.

EMDR therapy shows that the mind can heal from psychological trauma, similar to how the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.

EMDR therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs when a traumatic event happens. The brain’s information processing system naturally wants to process memories. If a memory is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate*” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

*Good Faith Estimates are only estimates for services provided and actual charges may differ from the Good Faith Estimate. The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require the individual to obtain the items or services from the providers identified in the Good Faith Estimate.
